In October, Toyota sold an impressive 2 793 new Hilux bakkies. Although this figure is 149 units lower than the previous month, the Hilux remains Toyota South Africa Motors’ best-selling model. This achievement comes despite a general decrease in sales within the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment.

  3. Isuzu D-Max – 1 807 units
  4. Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up – 709 units

The Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, and Isuzu D-Max continue to dominate South Africa’s light commercial vehicle market, reflecting their strong reputations for reliability, durability, and off-road capability—qualities that are essential for local conditions. Toyota’s Hilux leads the pack, appealing to both business and personal users with its broad model range and robust build. The Ford Ranger, meanwhile, remains popular due to its versatile design and advanced features, particularly following its recent updates that cater to a wide range of needs from family use to rugged work environments.
