The refreshed Hyundai Creta has made landfall on South African shores, with the revised line-up not only gaining updated convenience and safety items, but also a brand-new derivative coming in the shape of the Matte Edition. Noteworthy, the local arm of the South Korean automaker has also dropped the prices of select models.

Updated Hyundai Creta Price in SA

Priced from R449 900 for the entry-level, Premium model equipped with a manual gearbox, Hyundai SA has dropped the price of this variant by 4.17%, while the similarly specified IVT (‘Intelligent Variable Transmission’) derivative’s price has been decreased by 2.16%. The Executive IVT model’s price has been cut by 0.50%. The Premium Matte Edition and Executive Matte Edition are priced at R484 900 and R524 900, respectively. All models ship with a four-year/60 000 km service plan and a seven-year/200 000 km warranty.

As before, a single engine option — a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol — is employed across the range. The four-pot produces 84 kW and 144 N.m of torque, available from 6 300 and 4 500 r/min, respectively. Hyundai claims an average fuel consumption figure of 6.3 L/100 km for the IVT-equipped models and 6.5 L/100 km for the manual derivative.

On the standard-specification front, the base-spec model is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime-running lights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and artificial leather pews, among several other items. The Premium Matte Edition upgrades to black alloys, and keyless entry and start, while customers have the option of specifying the exterior in matte black. The Executive models feature the firm’s 10.25-inch Supervision display array and several driver assistance systems, including blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist and forward collision avoidance.
