Toyota GT3 Car Spotted Continuing Road Testing Around the Nordschleife

The pending Toyota/Lexus GT3 car has been seen publically on several occasions at the Nordschleife however car spotters have now seen the heavily camouflaged model testing on roads around the circuit. Toyota GT3

Following the arrival of a GR GT3 concept by Toyota at the end of 2022, it seems that the Japanese giant is forging forward with its production plan which has included continuous testing of the vehicle, yet to shed its camouflage body. Throughout the course of 2024, the prototype took to the Nordschleife in Germany which has likely honed its suspension geometry and performance for ultimate track use. The Toyota GR nomenclature does originally stem from Toyota’s GRMN “Meister of Nürburgring” title after all, for vehicles fettled at the circuit.

While it is being tested on the iconic German proving ground, Toyota has confirmed that there will be a road-going version although there is still very little known about the model. Fortunately for the die-hard petrolheads out there, it has previously been heard bellowing the sound of a V8 powertrain.

The most recent shots of the vehicle show it moving slowly on some village roads around the Nürburgring. The footage shared by JoelRe98 doesn’t allude to any more details on the proposed powertrain however it bears striking proportions akin to that of the revered Lexus LFA of the early 2000s. A long front bonnet likely houses the potent powertrain ahead of the driver, while a purposeful rear end includes a rear diffuser and modest rear wing.

Following the success of its hypercar in the global endurance series, this will likely supplement Toyota’s endeavours in the GT3 category as a potentially even more hardcore version of the model in the near future. The final production model is expected to debut by 2026…
