Dongfeng announced its arrival to SA’s passenger car market in December 2024, with the automaker confirming that it will launch several models throughout this year. Kickstarting proceedings is the Box – a compact EV that serves as its entry point to the passenger car market. This small city car is powered by a 42.3 kWh lithium-ion phosphate battery pack, providing a theoretical driving range of about 430 km. The top speed is a claimed 140 km/h. Other models that could potentially hit the market in 2025 include the 007 premium EV sedan and 008 six-seater SUV.
