Hyundai South Africa, the official vehicle partner of the Junior Springboks men’s rugby outfit, who claimed victory at the U20 World Championship in July 2025, is rallying behind the Springbok Women’s #PlusOne initiative, which calls on South Africans to bring one more fan to their games as they gear up for the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup in England, which takes place from 22 August to 27 September.

The local arm of the Japanese automaker’s involvement in this campaign aims at underscoring the company’s commitment to community upliftment and alignment with the values of South Africa’s national women’s rugby team. Said Thembeka Ngubane, Finance Executive at Hyundai South Africa, “At Hyundai Automotive South Africa, we are more than just about cars – we are about moving people: their ambitions and dreams. Supporting the Springbok Women is a powerful reflection on this DNA.”

Ngubane added: “We are honoured to fuel their journey, both on and off the rugby fields, as they carry the hopes of many young female rugby players and the nation as a whole. It is for this reason that we are making a clarion call to all South Africans to support the #PlusOne campaign.”

In addition, as part of the firm’s support, Hyundai South Africa is providing vehicles to the team’s players, coaches, and support staff.

The Springbok Women’s captain, Nolusindiso Booi, expressed the team’s appreciation: “We are incredibly grateful to Hyundai Automotive South Africa for being more than a sponsor; for being a true supporter of our journey. Their support motivates us to lead and represent the nation with pride, power and purpose as we intend to return from England as World Cup Champions.”

The Springbok Women’s team, who just lost out to a victory against New Zealand’s Black Ferns on 26 July 2025 at Athlone Stadium in Cape Town, will play their first 2025 World Cup match against Brazil on 24 August.
