Mercedes-Benz Unveils Revolutionary Vision Iconic Concept
Mercedes-Benz whipped the wraps off the Vision Iconic, a new design study previewing the Three-pointed Star brand’s design direction and the technologies expected to feature on future models.

The Mercedes-Benz Vision Iconic embodies the German automaker’s new design language. At its core is the brand’s ‘iconic’ grille, first introduced on the all-electric GLC in September 2025. Alongside this signature styling cue, the concept debuts innovations such as neuromorphic computing, steer-by-wire, solar paint, and Level 4 automated driving.
The front fascia features an illuminated chrome grille inspired by the upright designs of classic models like the W108, W111, and 600 Pullman. It combines a chrome surround, smoked-glass structure, and integrated lighting, topped with an illuminated upright Mercedes-Benz star emblem on the bonnet.
The firm describes the interior of the Vision Iconic as “hyper-analogue luxury” infused with “lounge-like” comfort, designed around the future of automated driving. A floating glass structure called “Zeppelin” serves as the instrument panel, spanning from pillar to pillar with four clocks in the centre — one shaped like the brand logo acting as an AI assistant. The cabin features mother-of-pearl marquetry, polished brass and silver-gold accents, deep blue velvet upholstery, and straw marquetry carpets. The four-spoke steering wheel showcases the Mercedes-Benz logo suspended inside a glass sphere clasped by spokes.
Neuromorphic computing research, which mimics the human brain to enhance AI efficiency, is said to make autonomous systems 10 times more efficient and reduce data processing energy use by up to 90%. Meanwhile, steer-by-wire replaces the traditional mechanical steering linkage with electronic actuation, improving handling precision and enhancing manoeuvrability — particularly when paired with rear-axle steering.
The Vision Iconic offers advanced Level 2 urban automated driving, with future iterations targeting Level 4 autonomy, allowing occupants to relax, sleep, or stream content while the vehicle drives itself. Its automated parking system can also park independently in nearly any environment.
Debuting solar modules integrated into the bodywork, the show car demonstrates Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to energy innovation. These photovoltaic-active surfaces can increase range by harvesting solar energy, even when the vehicle is switched off.
