2025 Geely E5 in SA: Price & Specs

Available in all-electric and plug-in hybrid guises, Geely has announced pricing and specifications for the E5.

Earlier in November 2025, Geely announced it has partnered with WesBank to not only create a foothold in the South African market once the Chinese brand relaunches its SA operations by the end of 2025, but also make new-car ownership more accessible to South Africans. Now, as the Hangzhou automaker gears up to make its official return to SA, it has announced pricing for its E5 crossover/SUV.

Available with battery-electric and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains – the latter indicated by the ‘EM-i’ denomination – the E5 lineup comprises four derivatives. The duo of all-electric model is equipped with a single electric motor producing 160 kW and 320 N.m of torque. According to the firm, the E5 EV offers an operating range of up to 410 km when its 60.22 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery pack is fully charged.

The EM-i variants’ PHEV arrangement comprises a single electric motor, fed by an 18.4 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery, and 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine – the former and latter producing 160 kW/262 N.m and 73 kW/125 N.m, respectively. Geely claims the PHEV setup offers a combined driving range of 943 km.

2025 Geely E5 Price in SA

The Geely E5 EM-i is priced from R599 999 for the entry-level, Aspire and R679 999 for the Apex derivative. The fully electric E5 is available in the same trim grades, with Aspire and Apex trim priced from R699 999 and R759 999, respectively. As standard, the E5 EM-i ships with a five-year/75 000 km service plan, six-year/150 000 km vehicle warranty, and eight-year/200 000 km warranty for the battery. The emissions-free derivatives have the same warranties, but gains a six-year/120 000 km service plan.
