Earlier in 2025, Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) introduced an array of upgrades to its Urban Cruiser and Starlet model ranges. Now TSAM has handed its Rumion portfolio a fresh round of updates, introducing upgraded safety and convenience items, while increasing the Suzuki Ertiga-based model’s exterior dimensions for enhanced practicality.
Starting with the safety upgrades made to the Rumion, all models now ship with side and curtain airbags, in addition to the existing driver and front passenger items, and the second-row bench gains a third headrest and three-point seatbelt (as opposed to the previously fitted lap belt) for the middle occupant.
To improve convenience, SX trim gains a USB-C charging port in the second row, while TX grade further adds a USB-C port in the rearmost seating compartment.
The Rumion’s roof has been stretched by 120 mm; the pillars are 22 mm wider than before; and the rear overhang has increased by 40 mm. Exterior styling updates include a new aft bumper and redesigned taillamps. A roof-mounted rear spoiler is standard across the range.
