Fiat published the first official images and details of the Fiat Grizzly in July of this year. The all-new Italian SUV and crossover coupe duo finally made its first public appearance at the 2026 Paris Motor Show. These two models are a critical part of the Stellantis Group’s future strategy to reclaim much-needed global market share. The Grizzly range will compete against the Toyota Corolla Cross, Nissan Qashqai, and Haval Jolion.
Production of the Fiat Grizzly takes place at the Stellantis Kenitra plant in Morocco. While not outright confirmed, Fiat South Africa is showing interest in a possible local introduction for this model. Currently, the historic Italian brand does not sell any passenger cars in the region, with the 500 officially retiring from the market earlier this year. The entire Stellantis Group took to the 2026 Paris Motor Show to showcase a dramatic product restrategisation for its European-based brands. Fiat’s new product line forms a big part of this revival plan.
The Fiat Grizzly expands on a lifestyle-minded global catalogue
While the Fiat Grizzly duo was revealed a few months ago, official specification details remain limited. The Italian brand confirms the SUV measures 4 400 mm long with 545 dm3 of boot space, while the Fastback extends to 4 500 mm, along with 608 dm3 of boot space. In line with its multipathway drivetrain strategy, the new SUV will be available with your choice of a petrol, mild-hybrid, or fully electric powertrain. Again, details are slim, but Fiat quotes a 107 kW output for the MHEV and confirms both manual and automatic transmission options.
Fiat also confirms that the Grizzly range will be making an official global launch in the European market on the 7th of January, 2026. Standard features and specifications also remain a mystery, but the models showcased at this year’s Motor Show are La Prima trims. The Grande Panda, 500 Cabrio, and 600 Sport also form part of Fiat’s aggressive global expansion strategy, while the Topolino EV and new Multiplay concept give us a slight hint of what to expect from the brand’s upcoming projects.
