A quick look at the data shows decreases across the board which continues the trend from June of fuel over-recoveries for motorists across the country. Not only has petrol and diesel taken a cut in price but paraffin too. This is courtesy of the average Brent Crude oil price decreasing slightly and the rand performing more favourably against foreign markets following the announcement of the Government of National Unity. All of this translated into the Basic Fuel Price of petrol, diesel and paraffin coming down per litre from June. Diesel prices reflect wholesale and pump prices will differ from what is listed above but this is the first time since January that it will cost less than R20 per litre.
