This special edition, commissioned through the Sonderwunsch program by Guglielmo Miani, head of the Italian fashion house Larusmiani, pays homage to a rare Porsche 959 from the late 1980s. Sonderwunsch, meaning “special request” in German, is Porsche’s personalization program that allows customers to create their dream Porsche. This program goes beyond the already extensive Paint to Sample options, offering exclusive features like the “Chromaflair” paints.

Chromaflair is a special five-coat paint process that utilizes wafer-thin pigments in the top coat. This results in a mesmerizing colour-shifting effect, with the car appearing to change hues depending on the light and viewing angle. The Urban Bamboo on this 911 Turbo S replaces the previously offered Dark Gold Chromaflair, creating a more subtle and contemporary feel.

The inspiration for this special edition comes from a group of four Porsche 959s built in the late 1980s for a special client. The 959 was a homologation special, a street-legal version of a race car, known for its cutting-edge technology and limited production.

This commemorative 911 Turbo S takes design cues from those legendary 959s. The most striking feature is the Urban Bamboo Chromaflair paint, but the details extend beyond that. A three-colour stripe, featuring Rock Green metallic, Jet Green metallic, and Anthracite Brown metallic, runs along the car’s flanks. This theme is echoed in the interior, where the same three colours adorn the leather seats, door panels, and other surfaces.

While Porsche provides one of the most comprehensive colour palettes in the industry, for those seeking true exclusivity, Sonderwunsch and the Chromaflair program open up a world of possibilities. This special edition 911 Turbo S serves as a stunning example of that potential.
