Bowers & Wilkins has launched its latest McLaren Edition headphones in collaboration with McLaren Automotive and the McLaren Formula 1 Team. Pawel Czarnecki’s rally-inspired Fiat 126B, which claimed top honours at the Poland leg of the Legends Tour, was named the global champion. Czarnecki’s customised Fiat will now be inducted into the Hot Wheels Garage of Legends and reimagined as a collectable 1:64-scale die-cast model that will be sold worldwide. Subsequently, the C5 Street and Style (now Street+ and Style X) variants have been revised; bringing with them various mechanical and cosmetic changes, and a R10 000 price increase. As mentioned, the C5 Street is replaced by the Street+, which ditches the previously employed 83 kW/138 N.m naturally aspirated engine for a turbocharged 1.5-litre unit producing a healthier 115 kW and 230 N.m. Now, before this Chery sub-brand officially sets up shop and launches its first model offerings on our shores, it’s announced its arrival in South Africa. Lepas’ initial model portfolio will comprise the L4, L6 and L8, with the first units expected to arrive in early 2026. The Lepas brand intends to bridge the gap between Chery cars and the Omoda & Jaecoo SUV lineups – the latter company being another Chery-owned brand. The conversions are based on the single-cab flat-deck 2.4 GD-6 derivative, either with a 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrain. Every unit is developed in-house, tested to OEM standards and developed by Toyota engineers through Toyota Motor Corporation’s CVPP (Conversion Vehicle Partner Programme). Image: Volkswagen Following the 500 000th current-generation Polo and three-millionth car built at Volkswagen’s Kariega plant, Volkswagen Group Africa is celebrating the production of the two-millionth Polo at its Eastern Cape-based assembly facility – a milestone achieved a year ahead of 30 years of Polo production in South Africa. The Polo, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2025, has been produced at Volkswagen’s Kariega production plant since 1996, for both local consumption and overseas markets. The two-millionth Polo that rolled off the assembly line earlier this month is destined for Australia, and of the two million Polos produced in South Africa, 1 407 160 have been exported overseas. Porsche Cayenne Electric Unveiled With Up To 850 kW

Porsche has whipped the wraps off the Cayenne Electric. We detail the first emissions-free series-production Cayenne models. Cayenne Electric Turbo. Image: Porsche The Cayenne Electric was unveiled in two guises: Cayenne and Turbo. The latter, “base” model’s twin electric-motor setup produces 300 kW when in “normal” operation; increasing to 325 kW, with 825 N.m torque on tap, when engaging launch control. Porsche claims the Cayenne completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.8 seconds, before topping out at 230 km/h. Spearheading the current lineup, the Turbo derivative produces 630 kW as standard. However, if you thought this figure is eye-widening, wait until you read the next line. Activate launch control, and the the Turbo’s peak power output is lifted to 850 kW – this and the whopping 1 500 N.m on offer allowing for a whip-crack 0-100 km/h time of just 2.5 seconds. Nissan has officially whipped the wraps off the new Navara bakkie. We detail the fourth generation. Image: Nissan Introduced in 2014, the third-generation Nissan Navara has been around for over a decade. However, the time has now come for the D23 iteration to bow out, with the Japanese automaker officially unveiling the fourth generation. Sharing its underpinnings with the current-generation Mitsubishi Triton, which we’ve evaluated for a road test in 2025, the new Navara’s bodywork measures 5 320 mm in length and 1 865 mm in width, making it 60 mm longer and 10 mm wider than the outgoing iteration. The wheelbase is slightly shorter than the D23 derivative; measuring 3 130 mm compared to 3 150 mm. The new Navara was revealed with a 2.4-litre, four-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine – the same unit Mitsubishi will introduce to its local Triton lineup in 2026. Said Bob Broderdorf, CEO of the Jeep brand, “With the Jeep Recon, we’re proving that electrification isn’t just compatible with off-road excellence, it can elevate it, delivering instant torque, precision control and a quieter, more connected driving experience that’s uniquely Jeep.” The Recon is equipped with a duo of electric motors, sited on the fore and aft axles, respectively. Image: BMW The new BMW M2 CS is headed to South Africa, with BMW’s local arm having confirmed the most powerful iteration of the current-generation M2 will arrive in our marker from the second quarter of 2026. Based on the second-generation M2 – which received a timely update , including an injection of power, in November 2024 – the CS-badged model ups the ante on the “standard” model. Toyota Retains the Top Spot as SA’s Best-Selling Car Brand in October 2025

Toyota SA, the best-selling car brand in our market, has yet again recorded the highest monthly sales for new vehicles in October 2025. Image: Toyota Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) recorded a total of 13 559 new-vehicle sales in October 2025; earning the local arm of the Japanese automaker a 24.2% market share. Despite a 587-unit decrease in sales compared to September 2025 , Toyota retained the top spot among the best-selling car brands in SA . TSAM’s total year-to-date new-vehicle sales reached 55 956 units in the 10th month of the year. According to naamsa, Toyota sold 8 432 new passenger cars last month. The most popular models included the Corolla Cross , which led the charge with 1 613 units sold, followed by the Starlet and Urban Cruiser, which recorded 1 613 and 1 360 units sold, respectively.
